Confidentiality
At Associates in Comprehensive Christian Counseling you
can be assured of confidentiality as is required for professional
ethical practice. We consider your privacy of vital importance and
will protect it as we serve you. There are however, important exceptions
to confidentiality that are legally mandated. In general terms, these
exceptions include:
- If you pose a serious threat to yourself or
another person.
- If there is a need to protect a child or dependent
adult due to neglect, abuse or molestation.
- When mandated by the legal system by subpoena.
Confidentiality will be respected in all cases, except
as noted above and in those additional cases where in our clinical
judgment the maintenance of confidentiality is destructive to the
individual. In those situations, this judgment would be discussed
with the client and a plan developed cooperatively.
When our services are being utilized for a child,
adolescent, or dependent adult the same general practice as outlined
above applies. It is important for that dependent to be able to trust
us, and important for you to understand the nature of therapy, the
process and the needs of your dependent. As a parent or guardian,
you have the right and responsibility to question and understand
the progress of therapy, and we will use clinical discretion for
both appropriate disclosure and your participation in treatment.
